Hair coloring?

What are some suggestions for harmless, safe hair coloring for doggies? Not permanent ones. He will be shown as well, so it would need to wash out. This would be for one event at obedience school.Hair coloring?
Been there... done this (Halloween)

What I've found-

Coat needs to be in VERY GOOD condition and not dry or pourous (or it needs to be just starting to shed out so if the coloring doesn't wash out the shedding will take care of it).

For very temporary coloring brightly colored side-walk chalk works.... especially when applied over cholesterol

Dog chalk works (I have a friend who turned her Samoyed into a Collie Mix for a commercial)

Crayola washable markers work on white freshly groomed dog.

Tempura paint powder works.. a fine mist of water as you brush the dust on makes it adhere.Hair coloring?
I would ask a groomer, but if it's a white dog it might not come out easily.
Umm...sugarless kool-aid or food coloring. other than that I wouldnt recommend coloring your dog's fur.

If he is white you would need to make sure there is adequate time for the color to wash or fade out.... because its going to stain the fur.

Your dog is beautiful by the way... I have a German Shepherd Dog.
Just ship him over to my house, I am sure my kids can come up with something.

However, be prepared. Not only will his fur be colored, his nails will be painted and he will be wearing a dress! (They have done this to all my dogs and cats one day! Poor kitty cats, they were not happy!)

I can only think of food coloring or Easter egg coloring kits. Both are non-toxic to people and animals last I checked.

Good luck!
Call around at a couple of grooming shops, some of them dye Poodles, etc. and could point you to a product.

I would also imagine anything Henna-based would be safe and wash out in a few baths.
You could try food coloring but that would probably take several baths to wash out. I know there are hair coloring products specifically for dogs but I can't remember the brand names. Try googling them online.
I'm not sure what you can use.. I've never died my dog's hair before lol.. Maybe you can ask a groomer? I'm sure your local animal groomer might know of some ideas..
Check out the suggestions here:

Do you want dog colors or do you want crazy colors like purple, pink, blue, green???

Chris Christensen has those chris stix. I don't know anything about them though. But you can look at his site and see what they are like.
You simply go to a vet or animal supply area and see if anyone has any.
Hi there :)

I got lots of respect for you, so I will keep my mouth shut :)

Best of luck :)
never heard of anyone wanting to dye their dogs coats so sorry can't help, but glad I'm not your dog, let him be hansome as he was born to be he is what he is a special dog without dye,
koolaid...that work for blondes...why not on a white dog..

But you dog might hate you for it....
You can get special ';Dog'; products from Groomers that wash out with their next bath. Non-Toxic, made for dogs.

DO NOT use Food Color like one of my friends and I did when we were 14 - We dyed her white dog purple and got in A LOT of trouble!
NONE, DONT DYE ANIMALS HAIR. TO DO THIS IS SUCH A STUPID THING.
