What is the difference permanent, semi, and demi hair coloring?

I was just wondering what the difference was between permanent, semi, and demi in referance to hair coloring.

Permanent is just that, permanent. It doesn't wash out, although it will probably fade. It can drastically alter your hair color.





Demi-permanent lasts for about a month. (24-26 shampoos) It can't lighten your hair, although it can alter the pigment.





Semi-permanent lasts for a couple of weeks. (6-12 shampoos) These simply add pigment to your hair.What is the difference permanent, semi, and demi hair coloring?

demi: changes the tone of your hair slightly to add more brightness then fades


semi: washes out after a few times


permanent: stays.. its like there forever
permantent does not wash out, but it may fade a little.


demi can chage your tones


and semi washes out with a few days
