How do I get hair coloring off my sink?

I got hair coloring on my chrome faucet, and it won't come off. Is there a way to remove it?How do I get hair coloring off my sink?
Try bleach or peroxide, full strength, maybe soak a paper towel in one of those and let it sit on the faucet for a few minutes, then rinse or wipe thoroughly with water. However, if dye stained the faucet, I have doubts that it will come out. A faucet shouldn't absorb dye if the finish is in good shape. How do I get hair coloring off my sink?
Tried the bleach and it did not work. I think if I caught it as soon as it happened it would have been OK but this has been on for some time and nothing seems to work. It's a Moen faucet and is about 9 years old. Thanks for your suggestions.

Try using shampoo to remove it. I use shampoo to get color off my face around the hairline, when rinsing my hair after color. When I let my hair stylist color my hair when I feel like being pampered, she removes the color, the same way. If the shampoo doesn't work on chrome, use an ammoniated cleaner.
